My family moved to Tucker in 1951 where I started second
grade. I have many wonderful memories of Tucker and attending school there.
Most of us in the class of 1962 literally grew up together. I thank all
of you for the many wonderful memories that I have of Tucker and THS. The
Beta Club convention in Atlanta where Jerry Fountain was elected State Treasurer,
Bobby Campbell shaking hands with one of the stars of Gone with the Wind,
fun field trips on the school bus(singing Pine Trees, 99 bottles of beer
on the wall), the fabulous football team, sock hops and other fun events.
Outside school activities included Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls. Phyllis
Edwards Mother was the leader of our Scout troop and was an excellent role
model; even if she did seem to have a knack for picking the coldest day
of the year for us to go camping.
I am married to Robert (Bob) Franklin. We have three sons and four grandchildren.
Chris lives in Illinois and has two sons, Ryan and Brandon. Brian lives
in the Orlando area and has two little girls, Breanna and Samantha (finally
some girls in my life). John also lives in the Orlando area.
I retired as Accounting Officer from NAVAIR Training Systems Division in
2004. When the Navy converted to an accounting system that did not like
negative numbers it was just too much for someone who expected ledgers to
balance (no I did not make that up). Bob retired from United Space Alliance
at KSC in 2008. We then moved to a small town named Middleburg near Jacksonville.
We are active in our church, it's Senior activities and enjoy retirement
immensely.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the reunion.
